meeting date: 28 jun 2005 attending: Arpad Muranyi, Mike LaBonte, Barry Katz, Todd Westerhoff Review of DAC presentation - went well, although not much discussion - was in the afternoon, fewer people there - Ian Dodd offered to represent Mentor in the effort - Need to have building block library and demo for DesignCon East Discussion of how to support those who do not have AMS - List of companies to invite, to help them develop mapping: - SiSoft (Barry Katz) - Cadence (Ken Willis) - Synopsys - ApSim (Fred Ballistreri) - Apache DA - Mentor (Ian Dodd) - Ansoft - Sigrity (Sam Chitwood) - Agilent has Verilog-A (John Olah) - Reps need to be from engineering, able to influence product, involved in IBIS - Do we need to have reps from companies that already have Verilog-A? - We can ask, but they may not participate. - They could join later. - Will draft a letter AR: Scott will identify an Apache contact AR: Todd will identify a Synopsys contact AR: Todd and Arpad will draft a letter Discussion of how to organize ourselves: - Committees - Should this be part of the IBIS Futures subcommittee? - no IBIS changes planned - Should we become a new subcommittee? - only to "bless" new library building blocks - Need to ask Michael Mirmak if we are "official" before we contact companies. - Phone meetings - If we have 10 companies, phone meetings will get bogged down - Two levels of participation: - Primary members are the regular phone call participants and probably writing most code - Secondary members "watch" what is happening, review proposals, and join phone calls as needed - Email - Would be easier to have a single email address (reflector) - Could use freelists.org - Start with current members, add more later - Data repository - Can use sisoft.com - Email items to Barry AR: Mike will create ibis-macro@freelists.org AR: Mike will create a zip archive of data files so far and send to Barry AR: Barry will create data repository Question: Will Cadence offer their macro library?
